Festivals in Alice Springs
Parrtjima: 9–18 April 2027
A free, ten-night festival on Arrernte Country with light installations, artworks, workshops, music and talks, according to the festival's own site. April is also a good month for the ranges: the BoM's average maximum at the airport drops to 28.4 °C. Expect demand for rooms on festival nights, and send a request early.
Tatts Finke Desert Race: King's Birthday long weekend, June
A two-day off-road race for bikes, cars and buggies, held each year over the King's Birthday long weekend in June, from Alice Springs to the Aputula (Finke) community. The organisers marked its 50th year in 2026. Lasseters lists the race among the community events it supports. Tourism NT notes that for many competitors simply getting there and back is the achievement. The town fills with crews, so accommodation goes early.
Henley on Todd Regatta
Bottomless boats raced in the dry bed of the Todd River, which runs right past the hotel. We could not read a confirmed 2027 date, so we do not print one. Lasseters names the regatta among the community events it sponsors.
Markets
Tourism NT lists the Todd Mall Markets as running from March to December. Todd Mall is 2.5 km from the hotel by road. We could not confirm the current Sunday schedule, so check the town's market page before you plan around it.
Planning around big dates
- Finke weekend and Parrtjima are the two periods when rooms in town are hardest to find. Request well ahead.
- Christmas Day sittings are set menus with bookings essential; mention them in your request and the desk can ask.
- Conferences fill the convention centre without notice to the public. If your dates are fixed, request early in any season.
