We started in 2026 to write a useful guide to one place. Here is how we work.
Alice Springs Basecamp is an independent guide to a single hotel: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters and the complex around it. The angle is practical. We treat the hotel as a base for the Red Centre and judge it on what a traveller needs between days out: sleep, food, water, a pool, and short distances.
What we are not
- We are not the hotel, the casino, IHG or Iris Capital, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
- We are not a travel agency. Bookings are made with the hotel or its booking partner.
- We are not a gambling site. The casino appears only as neutral information for guests.
How we research
- Official sources first: the operator's pages, then government bodies, tourism bodies and the people who run each attraction.
- Every fact is stored with the address it came from and the date we read it.
- If two official pages disagree, we print both or the more recent, and say so.
- If we cannot find a source, the fact stays off the site.
- Distances are our own routing from the hotel's map pin unless a destination publishes its own figure.
We did not stay at the hotel as guests for this edition and we do not pretend otherwise. There are no invented guests, quotes or anecdotes on this site.
Pictures
The pictures are illustrations made for this site, printed in a risograph style. They show the kind of landscape, room and food you can expect. They are not photographs of the hotel, and each caption says so.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to hello@alicespringsbasecamp.com with the page and your source. We check it and correct the page. Notable changes go into the field notes.
The technical facts
The domain was registered through Namecheap, Inc. on 1 November 2026. The site is static pages, hosted on DigitalOcean in Sydney, Australia, and served through Cloudflare. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising code.
